Issue Date: 2017
Abstract: ABSTRACT St. Nicholas International College is an international college which prepares students only for Cambridge examinations. It was established in June 2003. Now it belongs to the Archdiocese of Colombo. It is located at Nelumpitiya in Negombo. Currently the school‟s human resource management processes are conducted manually which lacks information accuracy, security and decision management. The proposed system could minimize the disadvantages of manual procedures and facilitate resource management in a very effective and efficient manner. Existing system lacks the functionalities such as Staff Detail Management, Subject Allocation, Leave Management, Performance Summary, Seminar and Training Management and etc. Proposed solution will provide access to various kinds of management reports and facilitate the search process. The system is developed in accord with the Object Oriented techniques. Unified Modeling Language was used in the analysis and design phases. Java language was used to implement the proposed system. Development tools such as NetBeans IDE 8.2 and Gluon JavaFX Scene Builder were used to aid the development process. Hibernate ORM, JavaFX and JFoenix library frameworks were used to ease the development of system GUIs. MySQL Workbench, MYSQL Server 5.5 were used to develop the database for the system and other tools such as Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Visual Paradigm were used to aid the design process. When studying problem domain and software engineering theories AUP (Agile Unified Process) was identified as the most suitable development methodology for the system. The system will fulfill all the client requirements and provide effective and efficient answers to the existing problems. Proposed system will facilitate the school‟s regular activities and provide better service to their staff members while maintaining information security.
