Examination Management and Result Processing System

Abstract

Use of the World Wide Web to provide educational content is now well established in most of the countries and its use to facilitate discussion between students. But in Sri Lanka or any local institutions does not take much advantages of above mention facilities to provide quality, productive and efficient web based learning, examinations and evaluation process. Even in USCS all courses also have an examinable taken under supervised conditions. My aim has been to investigate and develop the system to fulfill the extent to which we could use the Internet to automate the examination process and processing of results.

The EMRPS, Examination Management and Result Processing System will provide the Web based solution, instead of traditional paper and pencil based examination and manual paper marking procedures. It was provided by Examination center or Testing center environment to the student or candidate and also for the Institutions.

EMRPS is mainly provides Question Management, Live Examination and Result Processing functionalities to the Lecturer and the Student. It was provided questions management facility to any of the course against their modules and module’s sections with basic maintenance functionalities.

In Examination, the system will generate the online set of questions base on the module for each candidate. Also system is capable enough to navigate up and down of the questions and also allows candidate to review the questions.

In Results processing functionality was based on the answers given by the candidate, EMRPS system will precede the result just after finishing of examination by candidate and will indicate that the candidate was got through the examination or not.
