Interface for Audio Database Management System

Abstract

Handling large collections of multimedia-audio data, usually referred to as multimedia digital libraries, is a major challenge for information technology. The proposed and designed Computer Interface is an Interface for an Audio Database Management System that is developed to better understand the kind of data management that is required in the context of multimedia digital libraries. Its main features are an integrated approach to both content management and ( traditional ) structured data management, and the implementation of an extensible object-oriented logical data model on a binary relational physical data model.

Goals and Objectives of this project are to Design and develop a Computer Interface for Audio Data Base Management System ( ADBMS ) to improve the efficiency and minimize the time consumption of the audio clips identification, store, retrieval and play back functions.

Designed Interface expected to provide user-friendly functionalities to Create Database and Tables in a DBMS to store audio clips in a systematic manner to retrieve them quickly as possible. Front-End of the Application package is designed by using Visual Basic and DBMS is designed by using MS Access and MS SQL Server.

The designed Interface for ADBMS provides the primitives for managing the audio clips and its Meta data, as well as the probabilistic inference required during the interaction with the user. New feature models, different clustering algorithms, or different query modification techniques, can easily be added or modified.
