Title: E-Business Strategy for the Tourism Industry of Sri Lanka
Authors: Subasinghe, M.
Issue Date: 8-Nov-2013
Abstract: Internet is the main medium of communication in this era of information technology. It has therefore become absolutely necessary for any organization or business to participate on the web. Travel is yet another commodity that is making its presence felt online. The internet has become the ideal channel for promotion of a destination. Therefore any Destination Management Organization (DMO) is required to make their presence online in order to ensure that they tap in to the growing global market of online travel consumers. The aim of this project is to propose a suitable e-business strategy for the tourism industry of Sri Lanka. The client that would be targeted in this instance would be the Ceylon Tourism Board which is the designated Destination Management Organization for Sri Lanka. The e-business strategy proposed would look at the clients own requirements of expanding in to e-commerce as well as the authors research & analysis in order to propose the effective and most relevant strategies.
