Title: E-Learning Module for Design and Development of Computer Animations

Abstract: Over the past decade, the use of computer animation has grown into a large industry, which requires more specialist skills, including those that rely on traditional creative and design methods. Computer animation is one of the most rapidly expanding areas of creative endeavor and technical development. Computer-generated sequences in feature films and television, digital special effects in feature films, computer-animated simulator rides, computer games and virtual environments are some of the more visible applications of 3D computer animation. This course aims to provide students with a solid education in the design and latest skills associated with animation as well as in the latest Design and Development of Computer Animation technology. It explores the animation process, taking in animation history as well as current techniques. This route also shares modules with related visualization animation theory and some quiz and answers. Design and Development of Computer Animation course basically developed to the Advanced Digital Media Technology Centre (ADMTC) at the University of Colombo School of Computing for the use of MSc students and other internal students. This is one of the subjects ADMTC has preferred to teach using e-learning methodologies. Computer Animation and Design course is developing as a web-based module. In this module I'll like to include several teaching materials, examples, quiz, and guidelines for the users. And also learners can assess their performance through appropriate feedback. Such feedback provides learners with a chance to judge their performance and decide on a plan of action, which could be to move on to the next level or go through the course again. In addition, tracking user performance helps us to improve the training materials.
