Web Based Warehouse Management System for Sri Lanka Ports Authority

Abstract

Web Based Warehouse Management System (WBWHMS) provides a comprehensive solution to handle the warehouse cargo handling operations in Sri Lankan Ports. Authorized parties such as Customs, Agents, Consignees and SLPA Staff can access the system through the internet. Main objectives of implementation of this system are to improve and integrate cargo handling operations, provide management information, improve customer satisfaction and minimize operation costs.

System consists of sub modules which facilitate operational activities such as Master Data Maintenance, Vessel Schedule Entry, Container Entry, De-Stuff Entry, Warehouse Management, Agent DO Entry and Delivery. Each sub modules are streamlined and linked with each other to complete a Delivery. Unauthorized access to the system is prohibited and session management implemented through out the system.

Dream viewer, PHP (Hypertext Pre-Processor), MySql and Internet Information Services are used to develop the system. System will set up on existing High Performance Web Server, Database server and the Network.
