Retail Treasury Bill System For the Primary Dealer Unit of Bank of Ceylon

Abstract

This dissertation documents the analysis design and the development process of Retail Treasury Bill System, which will cover the processing of Treasury Bills handled by the Primary Dealer Unit of Bank of Ceylon. Also presents the object oriented diagrams and techniques that have been employed during the software design and development process. The proposed system is designed to overcome all the drawbacks of the existing system and will provide a secured access to all the branches of Bank of Ceylon. Apart from that, the new system will interface with the core banking application in order to exchange information efficiently. Requirements were gathered after having frequent meetings and discussions with the staff of the PDU of Bank of Ceylon. The required system specification and system design is done according to the Object Oriented Analysis methodology. Unified Modeling Language is used to develop the design diagrams. Graphical User Interfaces were designed using Dreamweaver programming tool and HTML. Software was developed using PHP and MySQL is used as the database which is running on IIS Server as a web based solution. Due to the limited time frame Sales and Purchases of Treasury Bill Module was not implemented. Except for this all other functional requirements of the PDU were met by the system and is compliance with the Script less Security Settlement System of the CBSL.
