dc.description.abstract | This project is related to the AXIS2 C. AXIS2 C is an open source web services, project which a collaborative work is done by most of the developers worldwide. It is an open source web service development project. It provides most important features of the web services and the project was aimed to fulfill the efficient implementation of MTOM (Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism) which is an important feature of web services. In addition to that interoperability measure and a performance measure of the feature compared with other web services were tested. Web services users may need to transmit binary attachments of various sorts like images, drawings, xml docs, etc together with SOAP message. Such data are often in a particular binary format. Traditionally, two techniques called “by value” and “by reference” are used for dealing with opaque data in XML. Both these methods have their advantages and disadvantages. MTOM (SOAP Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism) is new specification which focuses on solving the "Attachments" problem. MTOM tries to leverage the advantages of above two techniques by trying to merge the above two techniques. The report has looked at all the stages of this project, requirement analysis and design, testing and implementation, acquiring and establishing required hardware and software, learning required technologies and considering some of the problems encountered along the way and the relevant solutions. It describes the design of the new system with the extended new features and how they can be achieved. Now Apache AXIS2/C developer’s team has accepted the implementation. Binary attachment support for the current version of AXIS2/C is only provided by MTOM which was implemented by the author. The efficiency of the Binary attachment support of AXIS is very high compared with other web services such as AXIS2/java. | en_US |
