Abstract: This paper presents a software that enables designing the human face in an automated way and how that can be used for criminal investigation activities. Drawing is simply an art. Drawing is a very broad area and it basically has no boundaries. In this paper, face drawing is more emphasized with relevancy to this project. Human face drawing is a challenging subject when comparatively to other kind of drawings[WWW01]. The computerized way of face drawing is called face designing. The manual face drawing process is the main initiative. The manual face drawing process was carried out in criminal investigations in the past. Then with the immerging technologies of computer science, computer aided face design systems came into action to serve and speed up the criminal investigations process. With the presence of the computers and the improvement of computer graphics and image processing, the computerized human face design approach has became popular. Currently there are numerous face design tools exists in the world and supports criminal investigation activities. All of them has a great competition with each other in the market. Some tools are for educational and teaching purposes and freely available, but with very less functionalities. But some are very sophisticated with very advanced features such as Facial Recognition/Identification (designed face allows to be integrated with facial recognition technologies)[WWW12], Video Enhancement (isolated suspect image recorded in video surveillance can be transformed into a clean photo like image by develop a composite), Facial ID Codes (Biometric Alphanumeric Code (BAC) for every facial composite can be transmitted between locations), Image merging (merge several images into one image)[WWW09], etc.
