dc.description.abstract | The Internet offers a large potential for delivery of various information-based services, including the services of intelligent applications. As the availability of the Internet has grown, its value as a medium for the delivery of information in particular has increased. The goal of the project is to design and develop an on line newspaper advertisement submission System that is run by a web server and accessed by clients with web browsers over the Internet. The report compiles the System Development Life Cycle followed to build the system from the inception to the deployment of the system. It discusses all aspects of objectives, background, analysis, design, implementation, and system evaluation/testing prior to the system deployment. The system consists of two integrated main components, namely, Web component and Back office System component which maintain the Web component and do the financial and non financial analysis of the system outcomes. Web component is developed using Java J2EE technology, By combining Struts framework and Spring Framework, JSP's and the database part is developed using MySQL. The Back office System component is built using PHP and MySQL. Both components are working separately by using the same underlying components. The Web system simulates a newspaper company counter officer who process the user advertisement and handling the advertisement payment over the counter. The goal of the project encompasses highly reliable, cost effective, and readily available, on time submission of newspaper advertisement to the newspaper company. Being a web system, the PaperNET will greatly enhance the usefulness of such a system by increasing its accessibility for potential users. The maximum practically potential numbers of users are allowed to use the system simultaneously. Users interact with system through web browsers. The homepage will show the user about the available options. Once the user selects the required ad option, the user will be prompted to login to the system. If the user is a new to the system user should be registered with the system and user should be get the credentials to log in to the system. After login to the system user can proceed with the advertisement and pay on line. | en_US |
