Title: E-learning system for GCE (A/L) Information and Communication Technology

Abstract: An e-learning solution for advanced level ICT subject is provided by this project. Since this is a new subject to the school system adequate resources are not available in schools. Problems and difficulties faced by students and teachers in ICT teaching and learning process are going to be reduced with this system. Main purpose of this project is to provide a better learning experience for GCE (A/L) ICT students and effective teaching tools for teachers by designing and developing an e-learning based course materials. After analyzing student’s needs, teacher’s needs and subject contents, five competencies that contains 20 competency levels were selected to develop. Interactive course materials, quizzes, assignments, forums, chat rooms and wikis are included in the e-learning system. MOODLE was used to create the LMS, multimedia and some other relevant tools such as Flash, HotPotetoes, moviemaker; Camtasia and PowerPoint were used to design lessons and other activities.
