Abstract: The Development Lotteries Board (DLB) has been enriching the lives of people by providing Millions of Rupees as prizes and contributing Millions to the President Fund and Mahapola Higher Education Trust Fund. These amounts are conferment to the nation by selling lottery tickets. The Development Lottery Board has daily draw to choose winners. Therefore, the selling details need to be collected from island wide on time and to be processed before the draw. The existing system is a semi-automated system developed by a third party to facilitate this process. Although, there is an application it does not cater to all the requirements of the DLB. At present, for issuing tickets, collecting ticket data from distributors and validating prizes are operate in disconnected environment via email/ fax or by hand. Most of the time, these activities are performed manually. This process is inefficient and inaccurate. Thus, DLB needs their own reliable, rapid information sharing system to retrieve necessary data from island wide and fulfill all the DLB requirements. By considering the whole process, the solution designed to have a rapid information sharing system with a network solution to communicate among the central database and other users of the system. This system facilitates to provide a fully automated lottery management and monitoring system with update lotteries data on time, reduce time consuming and human resources, provide monitoring facility for the sales and credits, secure data from unauthorized access and provide information for decision making. Moreover this provides; user friendly, more effective and more reliable data sharing system to the user. Thereby the DLB is able to enhance their corporate image, sales and quality of the service.
