|Abstract:||Modern computer networks tend to be large collection of Ethernet Routers, Ethernet Switches and assortments of other devices. As networks gets larger, the job of monitoring, configuring and managing become more complex task. In order to manage large network it is necessary to use appropriate network management or configuration tools. Manually configuring and managing is not always efficient and it is a time consuming when it comes to larger networks. As performance of network configuring tools vary with the network environment. This project develops a centralized Ethernet Routers / Switches configuration and management system for the windows platform. Large ISP (Internet Service Provider) who is providing many ISP services to their customers has large networks like Layer 2 and 3. All Layer 2 switches will connect to Provider or Provider Edge Routers. When the ISP is giving customer links they always have to configure each Routers and Switches manually. For that process always need a trained staff to configure them properly on 24x7 hours basis. This process is time consuming and highlights that staff have a high job pressure, if a mistake arrives they need an on call engineer support to solve it and sometimes the whole process takes more than one day. This project will be addressing such major issues and helpful to configure Ethernet Routers and Switches through a centralized web based system according to users access levels, Backup device configuration and Easy restoration and minimize the downtime in device failures, Maintain system logs and provide more security, centralized monitoring system on links and improve the quality of work and the efficiency of ISP operations from less number of staff members.|
