Abstract

Sri Lanka is having a large market for second hand vehicles and for their parts. Though the business is something renowned among most people, it lacks a defined process of managing parts, storing them and selling to the customers. In fact everything is scattered and no central repository to access information around the country. Proposed solution is to fill the need of intermediary which bridges the vendor and the customer. The “Auto Parts Portal” will streamline this process by providing an easy-to-use web portal, a central repository which can be used by the vendors as well as the owners of the vehicles so they can easily find, sell and manage their items. The portal lets vendors to keep inventories of parts and the inventories themselves get exposed to consumers through an intelligent search. Vendor shipping information, part requests, advertising, analytics reports and trends are the other features provided by the portal. The document will summarize the business domain, methodologies and the approach which has taken to implement the solution.
