Online Finance and Control System with Data Visualization

Abstract

The problem identified for the project is the inefficient and time consuming manual and standalone record keeping and tracking methods in Technolanka Computer Services Pvt Ltd., which is an importer of telecommunication devices and a distributor. Hence to develop and maintain an online software system to eradicate the problems with the current system and to go ahead with the current technologies available to support the business functions with efficiency and accuracy and to take advantage over the competitors. This project covered the analysis of the problem, a literature review of the alternative systems available, design of the system and implementations of efficient functionalities for inventory management, Finance and Control with Data Visualization to facilitate the management with ease of decision making process, support the managerial and marketing personnel to interact with the system from anywhere, eliminate unnecessary time consumptions in responding to customer demands and to support customers with clarity and effectiveness. This project was done adhering to the Agile Development approach which was well suited for this project. The online software is developed using PHP and MySQL and with some RAD tools available, integrating a SMS gateway and adopting the current web concepts and technologies like AJAX. Evaluation and testing of the software was done to validate and verify the system both from engineering and user point of views. The user feedbacks were positive and they found the system easy to use and extremely helpful and beneficial over the previously used standalone software components and systems.
