“Mister Fix” – Online Service Provider for Household Services

Abstract

This study is aimed to provide the solution for the problem exists with finding the high quality, guaranteed and trustworthy service providers for household services in limited period. The main objective of this project is to automate the manual household service booking process which is already associated with Reich Star Holding Private Limited via a new shape. Reich Star Holdings private limited which is a pioneer in providing solar power energy systems, has decided to provide household services at the doorstep as expected for the customers who seek trustworthy people and this has been done for many years with the name of “Mister Fix”. As the solution, the proposed system has been designed as a mobile responsive web-based application where people can find the best service provider for their household services within a limited period of time. This “Mister Fix” - Online Service Provider for Household Services application facilitates the service seekers to seek household services online via an attractive user interfaces depending on the locations. The service seekers can be able to book large variety of household services that provide the easy and more secure payment method integrated with service bookings which replaces the manual process. This project altogether consists of three online portals namely Service Provider’s portal, Service seeker’s portal and Admin portal. Once the service requests are made by the service seekers and the online payment is made, service providers can be able to receive a notification once they have logged into their portal and those service requests can be accepted or rejected. The admin portal can be used as the backend and this can be mainly useful for administrators to do the reporting easily. The proposed system is implemented by adhering to the Rapid Application Development Approach which is well suited depending on the given timeline. The “Mister Fix” online system has been developed using php Codeigniter framework with MVC architecture. The system is designed based on Windows operating systems and to be compatible with google chrome browser. The system is tested and evaluated using the feedback received the samples of service providers and service seekers. With positive feedbacks for almost all functionalities, the system is accepted as easy to use and helpful in increasing the efficiency of the processes when compared with the previous manual processes.
