Web Based Travel Assistant

Abstract

Tourism is travelling from the inhibited location to another location by an individual or a group of people. Tourism is a major global industry that produces employment and a major income source to countries. Lot of people engage in tourism for purposes like business, leisure, etc. This includes both travelling within or outside the country of residence. The travelers engage in tourism both inside his resident country and outside the resident country. Hence during travelling the tourists can face lot of issues due to unfamiliarity of the environment that he will enter and due to lack of information on requirements like cost of living, accommodation, weather, travel routes and travel duration, etc. If the traveler can be provided with travel related data like cost of living, weather conditions, tourist density, etc. it can facilitate the traveler to plan the trip to obtain a safe, cost effective and time efficient one. There are many applications that have been developed with the above intention, but they all focus on limited scope of the above requirements. The objective of this project is to develop an application that is widely focusing on all the above and more requirements of the traveler. The application that is developed collectively focus on providing the data and analyse them to support the decision-making process on planning the tour by the traveler so that he can have a prolific travel experience.
