Smart Computerized Pharmacy Management System

Abstract

In typical pharmacy use paper-based inventory management, Supplier management and sales management modules even they use some point of sales system to manage the customer sales. Most of the point of sales processes only provide a solution to track the sales and create sales invoices. An alternative method can be used to maximize the profit by automating the routine manual process. To do this web based or standalone application can be used. Since most of the process are interconnected with each other web-based solution has the edge when it comes to automatic process management The purpose of this project is to develop a web based Smart computerized pharmacy management system for Gamage Pharmacy which is in Homagama. Currently they are handling daily routine work of the pharmacy by using manual processes. The proposed pharmacy management system will improve the manual process done by pharmacy staff. The system will have inventory management system to manage their stocks and keep track of the inventory and make suggestion to order stocks automatically. This process will significantly improve their current manual ordering process which includes of writing the orders by going through stock balances manually and make rough estimate of the amount to order based on stock figures. Drugs are not supposed to use after the expiration period. This makes the manual tracking and ordering the stocks more tiresome process which the system will automatically detect and inform the users. The system will replace manual paper-based pharmacy management process with computerized management process. The system was developed on ASP.Net Core Framework using C# as the computer language. The development process will follow Model-View-Controller architecture. Interfaces were designed using existing html templates by using JavaScript, jQuery and CSS. The system runs in IIS web server and MySQL used as the database in windows environment.
