Authors: Silva, L.Y.C.P.De.
Issue Date: 22-Oct-2013
Abstract: This dissertation presents a software that enables alerting to inform the active blood donors in an urgent requirement of blood. In an urgent requirement of blood, typically the blood requirement message is broadcasted in media such as in television, radio, internet, e mail, newspapers, etc. But this process does not seem to be very successful when it is considered regarding reaching the message to active blood donors. Blood donors are not always in touch with those media all the time, so the message might be received with some delays. It is proposed to sending an sms informing the urgent blood requirement to the blood donors who are closely located physically to the blood require- ment point. This will reduce the time required to get a willing donor and save lives. The proposed system registers and manage information regarding the blood donors. The eligibility information of the blood donors to donate blood is managed in the system by keeping history records of the blood donors in each blood donation. The main objective of the system is to prioritize the blood donors to inform incase of an urgent blood requirement arises and to get the required blood type in a very short time to save the patients life. The rst priority should be given to the blood donors who are active blood donors which ful lls the blood donation eligibility criteria and are physically located very near to the blood required point. This integrates all the blood banks and the hospitals which are collecting blood to nd the blood availability in an urgent blood required situation. The aspect of this system is to nd and inform the closest located blood donors faster to get blood to save a person who needs blood and struggling to live more time on this earth.
