Title: Mclloyd Web-based Business Statistical and Information System

Abstract: This Trade Statistical and Information System was developed for Mclloyd Business Intelligence (Private) Limited. This system is for benefits of the stakeholders: (1) Mclloyd management; (2) employees; and (3) customers who are purchasing trade statistical reports. The current way of the business in the company is fully old-fashioned and time-consuming process. In the current business flow: (1) first customers are checking the availability of the statistical reports based on their requirements; (2) If the particular reports data available for given time period; (3) then the customer requests a quotation for it; (4) once the order confirmed by the customer; and then (5) MBI staff will start the process of generating the particular reports. Here all above communications happens through emails or phone calls. In addition to that, all reports are generated using MS Excel software and stored in medias such as USB flash drives, CDs and DVDs for hand delivery purposes. Because it is hard to send all kind of reports through emails due to maximum size limitation of attachments. In order to delivering reports and collecting payments, they are spending extra for additional resources, courier services and materials. Hence, this overall business process is not secured at all and similarly inefficient. Also, low customer satisfaction directly influences MBI business growth. The purpose of this project will be to overcome all above-mentioned issues and to build a system which will help the MBI to improve their business in an efficient and a secured way. “Trade Statistical and Information System” will be a solution where all the worldwide trade activity data available for MBI customer's exploration. Furthermore, it will provide online report subscription and online credit card payment facilities. It will maintain few major subscription plans based on the duration and the features. Each of registered customer has an account for the system. However, the customer must log into the system for searching worldwide tread statistical information. Customer search activities will be controlled based on their subscription plans. The system is developed on top of the CodeIgniter PHP Framework based on MVC architecture. The jQuery and the Bootstrap frameworks have been used in client-side to improve the human interactions in the system. Data-Tables plug-in used for tabular data representation in the system. Morris.js is used to represent data graphically. This system facilitates the objective of delivering a simple and versatile solution to improve MBI’s trade statistical information business in an efficient manner within a secure portal.
