Web based Solution for Right Automobile Service Center

Abstract

Right Automobile and Services is a newly established Automobile Service Center owned by Mr. Ranjan Pathirage. Currently, there are 20 qualified Technicians in the workforce who are undertaking all types of vehicles services. Right Automobile and Services provides numerous automobile services to the customer’s door step. If the customer is busy, he/she can request Right Automobile and Services to visit their home/ location and take their vehicle to the service center and bring the vehicle back after the service is completed. If it is a minor repair, they are capable of providing the service at the customer’s location. In addition, a customer can leave the vehicle at the service center. All these operations are managed manually by the staff and the standard of the procedures are not up to the expectation of the management. All records are managed using different paper based manual processes and they are not centralized and interconnected. Information is duplicated in many places and maintaining records are problematic and a waste of time as well. Organization is expected to move forward with the new Software based solution targeting best services for their customers and a boost for their sales and productivity. One of the main problems which identified during the analysis stage is unorganized system process and how it should be interconnected and in-line with future system. It is expected that the proposed system solution will cover all these analyzed issues and it is strongly believed that the workflow and responsibility sharing mechanism must be included in to this centralized web based solution. Proposed System will be adapted to simplify the open source features. Basically this is runs on the Code igniter framework by following MVC architecture in PHP and MySQL environment.
