Web Based Fleet Management System for Macksons Paint Lanka (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract

Abstract Macksons Holdings is a diversified conglomerate involved in manufacturing, retailing, property development, franchising, trading, imports and exports in household, leisure, automobile, building materials. The company handles with heavy paper work currently and which will be inefficient and time wasting. As a solution we can get an aid from the information technology. Fleet management system for delivery vehicles is emerged to reduce these problems and will increase the competency and efficiency of their work. This system has provided many facilities such as vehicle registration, driver registration, handling vehicle request and allocation, managing delivery expenses, manage vehicle maintenance expenses, handling daily driver attendance, calculating driver Bata and incentives, vehicle maintenance information, incident tracking &generate reports to the right time etc. The fleet management system has been developed based on the Rational Unified Process (RUP) framework. The architecture used for the system is MVC architecture, which stands for ‘Model, View and Controller’. Object oriented techniques used to design and implement the system.the PHP server side scripting language has been selected as the programming language to implement this system and Netbeens has been selected as the IDE (integrated development environment). Further MYSQL server database has been selected as the database to store the data of the system. This system has been successfully developed according to client’s requirement therefore all the errors and barriers of existing system were eliminated by new system.
