Title: Stock Control and Vehicle Tracking System for Osurapharma Ltd

Abstract: Due to rapid evolutionary of Information communication technology and sake of the improved human thinking, manual processes are being converted to automotive computerised systems. Orienting to Warehouse and Stock Management system, resources exchanging speed is becoming faster than ever. Hence Stock management and warehousing is converting to run on web based platforms for fast access. This Stock management and Vehicle tracking system was developed to fulfil the essential system requirements of OsuraPharma Ltd. Before this implementation employee maintained a manual system with various documents. It was harder to find out a systematic way in stock controlling, administration of the vehicle management, day to day operations including transactions, operational and non-operational activities, in, out stock levels, agent return items, suppliers’ item issues, confirmation of deliveries, missing receipts, damage items and generating monthly and annual reports. In addition to that, huge racks with documents, agent return items which are not recorded in the files could be found. No Good received notes were maintained. It was highly noticed requirement of a database. By establishing a Stock control and inventory management it was expected to manage Stock, decide pricing data, integrating with vehicle tracking system, sales order processing, Purchase order processing, stock balance, monitoring the stock and batch control, monitor the delivery issues, update the GRN in the inventory and giving promotions. In addition to that, driver issues, company vehicle issues, communication issues with customers regarding the items on time deliveries, fuel consumption issues, how to track the vehicle and drivers online are also there since there was no proper way to track the vehicles. Main objectives of developing a vehicle tracking system, are, monitor the live deliveries, get the vehicle details automatically, save the fuel consumption, save the vehicle maintain cost and optimize driver working time to full fill the company requirements. Building a proper database for all items, will eliminate the redundancy, remove manual work and build a user friendly environment to optimize the users’ efficiency effectiveness heading towards to achieve company goals. In addition to that, other objectives were to manage proper vehicle tracking system and implement a report management system in the company. Stock management system was developed based on PHP codeignitor framework. Software architecture was MVC (Model, View and controller) architecture. Programming language was PHP and java script. To create the database architecture, I used the MySQL and MySQL web launch. The other part of this development, vehicle tracking system was basically designed based on Google Map, GPS, WhatsApp application and Microsoft outlook. The main issue was to get the communication service (GSM) from third party to establish the link with Google map. This system implementation facilitates to manage the company supply chain process with updated monthly, annual reports in efficient manner. By delegating the system access authorities to each level and check the day today operation online it made very easy to forecast the business survival in the market, make decisions and give the immediate solution at the same time. Data security, integrity of user work was established in the company. Agents and suppliers became happier and buildup a good partnership with the company since this system make their tasks easily and fast. In addition, using this versatile solution company can save money, time effort and make the route to achieve company goals easily.
