ONLINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR COMPUTER RESOURCE CENTERS IN EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, NORTHERN PROVINCE

Abstract

ABSTRACT Information technology plays a major role in the modern world. Various ideas are given by Information technology. With the introduction of information technology the world has changed forever. All the departments and the sectors use information technology to ensure that their works run smoothly and efficiently. Computer Resource Centre (CRC) is the one of the ICT Center which was established to support ICT literacy in schools by the Ministry of Education. At present CRCs face lots of challenges to carry out their duties. Teachers, principals and administration staffs have to work hard to achieve their goals. The Provincial Education Department, ICT branch and administration sectors face lots of difficulties to manage their details of Students, Staff, Resources and etc, data organization and centralization of their data. In manually they spend lot of time to generate their reports and create certificates. This Online Management System will give a solution to Computer Resource Centre (CRC) of Northern Province to solve their existing manual work problems. This system helps to manage and control the CRCs in different locations in Northern Province. Through this system they will receive a user friendly online system for their CRC’s students and guests. The CRCs can manage their data through online from various centers. It guides the students to register through online and give facilities to search courses details and CRC’s information. Through this system management can able to generate various categories of reports in fingertips. And also marks details can be verified for the official and personal concerns. This system has been developed using open source server language PHP, Apache web server and MySQL Database Management System for back-end. MS Visio was used to design the diagrams and MySQL Workbench was used to create the ER diagram of this system. This system will help the Educational Department of Northern Province to achieve their goals.
