Abstract: ABSTRACT In today’s technological world mobile devices play a major role in communication, thus making mobile top-up an important aspect. This demand has been the cause for the rise of many companies which provide facility for mobile top-up. One Prepay Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. is a company which has entered this market recently amidst heavy competition. The company is currently using a manual system to manage their day-to-day operations, which is an obstacle in the growth of the company. As a result of the manual system the organization has come to face problems such as data inaccuracy, redundancy and delay in decision making due to unavailability of timely reports. Thus the need to update their systems to increase productivity and accuracy of the information recorded, has become a vital part of the organization’s development in today’s competitive market. As a solution they have decided to adopt a computer based system. The operations management system is developed using Rational Unified Process (RUP) framework and Object Oriented method was used for designing. PHP was chosen for coding the system and Netbeans was used as the IDE. Database for the system was designed using MySQL. Bootstrap was the tool selected for designing the user interface. The Operations Management System is built and customized in order to overcome the challenges. The system is designed to eliminate manual paper work involved in activities such as purchase, sales and inventory control. It also facilitates report generation. Thus providing the organization with ready reference data, that will be accurate, that will aid the decision making process. The system will reduce redundancy and save time by reducing the manual work.
