Abstract: ABSTRACT MG Medicals (Pvt) Ltd was founded in 2002 with the vision of bringing superior quality surgical, medical, laboratory equipment and rehabilitation aids to the market. At present this company uses the MS Office package for keeping track of the procurement, inventory and payments related information. The company is in the process of extending its services into a wider range of products it is sometimes very difficult to provide information quickly for the management, with the current manual process. It is mainly because of the information is kept in many places and some of them are being duplicated and some of the information is inconsistent with each other and therefore it is not so user-friendly. Additionally, due to the inadequate security controls some of the key information is being vulnerable to unauthorized access. This Procurement Tracker software will eliminate the drawbacks and difficulties in the present way of working and provide more efficient support to the company. In this system, mainly four modules were included. The Purchasing Module gives the functionalities such as creating a Purchase Request, Manage Orders, RFQ and generating Purchase Orders. In the Items Module, it includes GRN-Inventory, GRN-Fixed Asset, Fixed Asset Register, Maintenance, Movements and Disposal functionalities. The Reports Module gives a number of reports and the Admin Module consist of specific functionalities for system administration. This system was developed by using PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) which is a server side scripting language but without using any frameworks. MySQL was used for the database management and for the frontend user interfaces, Atlant Front-End Template which is a free, responsive template, was used. Also, JavaScript and jQuery libraries were used as the frontend scripting language. The system was implemented using the Model–view–controller (MVC) architecture, which is a pattern of dividing the software application into three interconnected parts. For the development of the UML diagrams ‘StarUML’ was used. NetBeans and NotePad++ were used as the IDE (Integrated Development Environment).
