Abstract: Information is the lifeblood to any organization in accomplishing organizational goals. Many organizations fail in optimal decision making due to lack of information. Business analytical solutions have been provided more often, to improve the efficiency of decision making process in an organization. Online Analytical process could provide a competitive edge for a particular organization over other organizations. Online Analytical Process is a valuable tool in the current business environment. It confirms consistent delivery of vital information which speed up the growth of the business. It is a computer process that enables a user to easily and selectively extract and view data from different viewpoints. Credit card systems offer economic advantages to many individuals and organizations across the globe. In economically developed countries and emerging economies, the credit card system helps individuals, businesses, and even government agencies, to speed up business transactions and enables easy access to short term loans. Online Analytical Process for credit card system was proposed to generate dashboards and reports by including transactions of credit card holders. It was developed using data integration tool called Talend open studio for data integration, structured query languages, a business intelligent tool called Tableau desktop and a database tool called Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Utilization of credit card transactions can be increased by observing particular dashboards and reports to come up with an optimized solution. As a result both card issuers and merchants are benefited by offering promotions for card holders since it leads to significant growth in income. This thesis is devoted on the analysis of historical data associated with a particular credit card system in order to visualize card holder’s transactions. The research mainly focuses on identification and application of suitable data warehousing techniques and business intelligence methodologies in order to achieve the aforementioned objective.
