Title: WEB BASED TASK ALLOCATION SYSTEM FOR ADVANCED INFORMATION CONSULTING (AIC)

Abstract: Task allocation systems represent a rapidly growing technology in IT industry. Web based task allocation systems are becoming popular in a large companies. A proper task allocation system plays an important role in an organization to ensure the reliable, robust and deliver high quality of outputs. This project describes a web-based Task allocation system (TAS) for a small and medium level projects, which needs the cooperation among different offices located in different areas. This system is integrated with the modern project management process based on workflow and communication networks to manage the development process of collaborative web environment. It comprised of some major parts, including user management, project management, task management, work order management, resource management and graphical user interface to achieve the benefits of data sharing, cooperation and monitoring the progress of the work tasks. There are three types of system users, namely administrator, management staff and general user. Administrator can access all the features of the system whereas the management and general users have less access levels to the system. The system will create projects, tasks and work orders. Every project has tasks and every task has work orders. Every project, task and work orders will assign to a resource person who is in the list of active resource persons. Search facility is also available for projects, tasks, work orders and resource persons. Graphical user interface will show the number of estimated hours and worked hours of every project, and the export features available for all completed records. The system had been designed using JAVA based technology and Postgres SQL database. Also the system front-end was developed using java server page (JSP) and the back-end was developed with a Postgres database. According to the feedback received from clients, the system developed has reached the standard requirements of the client.
