Abstract: Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) is the common user facility company established to facilitate the petroleum storage & distribution activities in Sri Lanka. Bowsers are the main transportation method to deliver petroleum products all over the country. The tyres of those bowsers should be in a good condition to distribute petroleum product safety. So tyre maintenance system plays major role in the company to keep tyres in a good standard. Tyre maintenance handle by the garage function of CPSTL and currently they use a manual process for it. Each tyre of the company has three tyre cards and they contain history of the tyre. Users fill all three tyre cards manually which has more repeat work. The manual tyre card maintenance process of the company is inefficient and incapable to track the status of the tyres and generate reports accurately although tyres have high budget allocation in the company. The purpose of this project is to develop a tyre card maintenance system for Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited. Using the system users able to create and maintain tyre cards using the SAP ERP environment by providing user friendly environment for users to facilitate the process in an efficient manner. So to maintain the tyre cards using the developed system reduced the repeat work and also controlled the users from unethical actions. Also user can view several reports of the tyres by tyre status wise, plant wise and vehicle wise. Mileage calculation of each tyre is time taken process when doing manually but in the system automatically calculate the mileage. The system developed using ABAP language which is the programming language of SAP to develop applications. The system is capable to fulfill the requirement of all users belong to the tyre card maintenance process. The tyre card maintenance system has updated data which link with Material Management module in SAP environment which gain huge advantages for company.
