Abstract: Metro Medicare hospital commenced operations in Kotte, Sri Lanka on 1st of June 2005, under the brand name of Metro hospitals, a part of the chain of Metro hospitals group founded by the renowned Dr. Asitha Dharmawardhana in Sri Lanka. Metro Medicare currently growing as one of the leader in healthcare sector. Currently Metro Medicare is considered to be one of the best health care facilities in the country. Metro Medicare persists towards delivering excellence and dependable healthcare. They offer crucial emergency care, laboratory and testing services, pharmacy and other vital services round the clock for patients seeking urgent medical attention. Metro Medicare currently uses a manual system for the management and maintenance of critical information. The current system requires numerous paper forms, with data stores spreads throughout the hospital management infrastructure. That information is incomplete or does not follow international standard. Forms are often lost in transit between departments requiring a comprehensive auditing process to ensure that no vital information is lost. Multiple copies of the same information are exist in the hospital and may lead to inconsistencies in data in various data stores. Classical waterfall model has been used as the software lifecycle model in this project. The waterfall model is a linear sequential flow. In which progress is seen as flowing steadily downwards (like a waterfall) through the phases of software implementation. In the way of building this project as the programming language JavaEE has used. As the database technology mysql has used. Further as the client side technologies jquery and ajax has been used. A significant part of the operation of Metro medicare involves the acquisition, management and timely retrieval of great volumes of information. The data are well protected for personal use and makes the data processing very fast. E-Patient record management system is powerful, flexible, and easy to use and is designed and developed to deliver real conceivable benefits to medical center.
