Rent-A-Car and Cab Service Management System for Pawana Cabs (PvT) Ltd.

Abstract

Business solutions are one of the main parts of any business in current society. Most of the Companies trusted and rely on their computer systems rather than traditional file processing systems because of sometimes human made mistakes that will affect businesses negatively. But computerized system provides an immense assistance to the user while providing high level of accuracy, speed, clarity, proper organization etc… are a few that a computerized system provides its masters. Because of these computerized Business solutions provide opportunity to stand up among other competitor on the society by enhancing business quality / security of sensitive data and improving efficiency / productivity of employees. Pawana Cabs (Pvt) Ltd is one of leading cab and rent a car service provider located in Colombo area which has high number of vehicles and drivers with vast variety of vehicles such as Cars, Vans, Lorries and Nanos. Further they provide rent a car facility with the option of Luxury cars, unmarked cars and uniformed Chauffeurs to satisfy their customer desires. As the currently using traditional file processing system that has growing out of their hands so that web system becomes necessity for them to survive. This project will introduce e-business model E-Portal to the company while transforming them from traditional business to e-business by creating portal to join freelance drivers and vehicle owner with our cab service by profit sharing basis to grow their cab service and rent a car business to a strong position and provide jobs opportunities to desired Sri Lankans by making platform to them to earn extra money. In a rent a car or cab service instructing where customer is located and where cab is located are the main problems in the current market segment in consumer perspective and when it comes to service provider finding nearest available cab to the customer is becoming impossible and time consuming to track and find with the growing businesses. This project will provide solution for this through an android application to track through GPS and show them in a real time. So it is a matter of seconds to locate and find all details about cab and its driver. Finally goal is to make this system more generalized and put into open source marketplace to use by anyone to set up this system in their server and get benefit to their business.
