E-Learning Management System for Grade-10 ICT

Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution and one of its resultantevolutions of E-Learning is a common term used every where today. In foreign countriesE-Learning is applied in their teaching learning activities in classroom level, training anddeveloping skills of industry level. Teaching the public about the governing and healthy living in administrative level and so on.Unfortunately we Sri Lankan, adapted to traditional chalk and talk teaching practice for years are still not on the trace of developing this technology in our education system to desirable level, especially in our secondary education.This project focuses on ICT in secondary education for educating ICT; it is an e-Learning solution for ICT subject of the Grade 10 students. It is achieved by facilitating the students to learn directly from sources, interacting with learning objects and collaborating via forums together with formative and summative evaluation according to lesson level and course level learning process.E-Learning Management System for Grade 10 ICT (Virtual Learning Environment) is a web application to provide a smarter method of giving assignments, managing virtual classrooms, conducting tests to the students, generation of report cards and notifying their parents about the performance of their children which are done automatically.There are four basic users – Students, Teacher, Parents and the Administrator. The system provides a role based access to the students, faculty, parents and the course administrator. All the users have their own customizable profiles. The system also provides the course contents such as Notes, Video tutorials ,Quizzes and Structure Questions.
