Title: Web Based Front Desk Hotel Management System

Abstract: The purpose of developing a web based hotel management system was to hotel personal to manage the reservation, housekeeping matters and also to monitor system remotely. The problems in current systems discovered during requirement analysis were time consuming in reservation process, lack of housekeeping management and lack of maintenance and monitoring.The methodology adopted here was iterative waterfall paradigm. The system was developed using java programming language and free open source software. Usability of this system was highly considered. Coding was handled through an Object-oriented approach.A user based evaluation method was used to evaluate the system. The selected users were given a questionnaire to answer according to their experience with the system and the responses were analyzed.In conclusion, this automated system is aimed to save time and money for users, thus resulting higher profit to the hotel, low maintenance cost to maintain the system and better service to its customers.
