Web Based Time Management System for BOu Services (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract

BOu Services is a company which provides web and software development, online marketing and business analysis support to their client companies. The company focuses on understanding the exact needs of its clients and process tailor made BOu solutions to provide the best value possible in a timely manner to its clients. All employees of BOu services work under time based policy. Therefore, it is required to calculate the actual working hours for the projects. Management of the company needs to get actual statistics of the progress of the project. Employees need to add time for all tasks of the projects as well as for out of office. All employees are requested to send leave requests for the HR and management. All employees need to view their time for the projects, leaves and out of office for their appraisal. This system provides the individual login for every employee and time sheet adding facility and performance reports for each employee and the project. This system has online access interface to all employees. So everyone can see their performance as well as the management can see the project progress and the efficiency of each employee. In addition employees can see their leaves status and can apply leave trough online. The management can give approval or rejection through online. Mainly, Management want to get performance report for each project to calculate profit. This system can get total time for the project and individual contribution to the project. Unit testing was done by myself and usability testing was done by the staff member who is in the HR department. The system was tested with the 12 employees of BOu services pvt (Ltd). There were some issues with the adding leaves. Because of the taking unexpected leaves. Adding the unexpected leaves within the one week is the solution for the issues. Keep the record book to collect the login time and logout time. That use to verify the login details with the system. The solution is being carved out as a web based Management Information System using Joomla CMS with the use of available reusable modules and custom modules as required. In addition this system uses Codeigniter framework, Boostrap, Jquery libraries (Data table, High charts), PHP, HTML, CSS, Apache server and MYSQL as database.
