Day-Care Management Portal for Rainbow International (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract

Rainbow International (Pvt) Ltd is one of the leading company operates in Sri Lanka which belongs to the Rainbow Group of companies based on USA. The company, Rainbow International (Pvt) Ltd offers daycare facility for the kids of their staff as a free facility to improve the efficiency and productivity of their staff. This facility only has limited capacity due to space limitation. So to provide fair and seamless service, the pre-booking system is being setup and the excel sheet based system is using to achieve it. Due to high demand to the facility, the Rainbow International has decided to introduce new booking scenarios while tracking other related activities of the daycare. This decision leads to go for a proper Day-Care Management system to handle all aspects of the daycare to avoid employee disappointments and reduce the total cost of operation. The present Microsoft Excel based solution is not or less capable of handling concurrent access together with complex algorithms, notifications, tracking and other reporting criteria requested by the Rainbow International, so the comprehensive Day-Care Management Portal (DCMP) has been proposed to address all the requirements required by the Rainbow International. The DCMP application suite is the answer for that and it is a web based application and two android mobile applications which is accessible within the intranet of Rainbow International (Pvt) Ltd. This DCMP application suite is based on latest technologies and responsive, user-friendly interfaces. The main technology for web suite is ASP.Net 4.5 with C# and Oracle DB. The ODAC, Ajax, JQuery and Bootstrap has been used to give great user experience and rich set of functionalities to the DCMP. The mobile applications are based on Android technology. This application suite will automate the daycare facility booking system, kid attendance management system, new kids and daycare staff registration management system, annual subscription handling system, daycare events management system, daycare assets & stock management system, daycare staff leave reporting system and daycare information report management system. The analysis reports of the current and future trends and the usage of the facility provide great deal of opportunities to the company for future expansions decisions. The user evaluations, feedbacks and statistical analysis proved that the DCMP Portal improved the user satisfaction and also helps the company to save the extra time and effort of the employees which is being used to manage the Excel sheet based legacy system and this will ultimately to cost saving for the company.
