Issue Date: 22-Sep-2016
Abstract: Inyx iT (Pvt) Ltd is an Information Technology service consulting organization. It provides the service for different clients in Sri Lanka as well as overseas. The Inyx iT Office Portal is the solution introduced to Inyx iT (Pvt) Ltd to improve the efficiency of their day today office related activities. The solution effected to both employees and respective managers to make ease of their office life as well as track information for their management and for future references. In this company, there are several processes related to employees. Some of them were automated and some of them were executed manually. The Manual processes took more time, error prone and lack of tracking. The leave management process handled via excel sheets and it was inconvenient to the person who handle it. The after hour service management process handled via emails and did not track properly. It led to spend more money for unnecessary transport and dinner requests. The claim management process handled via excel sheets and did not track information properly. Also the company needed to maintain employee profiles in a system rather than keep them as hardcopies in a file. In order to replace all manually executed processes, the automated web based portal solution was designed and developed. Not only that but also, it provided single service entry for all employees to log and make their requests and manage them. This product was designed using object oriented analysis and design approaches and developed using ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, SQL Server database, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery libraries and Cascading Style Sheets technologies. The developed system achieved all the anticipated benefits such as proper leave management process, claim management process, after hour service management process, employee recommendation process and employee profile management process. The data stored from these processes can be used for decision making and verification. Finally, the system provided employee satisfaction and proper activity management to the organization. The client feedback form could be seen in Appendix E and the result of the survey could be seen graphically in section 5.3.
