Abstract: Internet of Things(IoT) is a new trend in the world which open doors for people to control devices and sensors over the internet. IoT enables every day objects to become active participants in everyday life in various ways. With the use of low cost but resource rich devices such as android phones and Raspberry-Pi, various IoT applications have emerged in recent years. Meanwhile, IoT applications based on such devices have created severe security and privacy issues pushing device owners to think twice before they connect their devices to such IoT applications. This is because, most IoT applications receive access to the sensor data of IoT devices without a control from device owners regarding their use. Most of the existing IoT solutions uses third party cloud services(identifies as trusted services) to interact between IoT devices. Even though these services users encryptions, authentication, authorization like protections to secure the data, the data stored/transmitted via these services can still be vulnerable. Main reason is these services can view the data transmitting by a host. Host to service communication is secured(with encryption, authentication, authorization etc). But host to host communication is not secured. It mean no end to end security with existing IoT solutions. End to end security is a must things that every IoT application should have since is IoT deals with personal sensor data. Due to the lack of end to end security the user's private sensor data visible to third parties. Because of this privacy and security reasons many people worrying about that data saved/transmit over the cloud based IoT services. In this thesis, we present our open platform called SenZ which features a social network (tweets) like interaction among IoT devices. These interaction messages are called SZql messages. The SenZ platform controls and shares IoT of individuals and its cryptographic protocol to ensure privacy of device owners. It guarantees end to end security between IoT device communications. SenZ platform provides an architecture which can solve many issues in IoT applications of today's world.
