Title: Automated Group Music Listening Experience
Authors: De Silva, N. G. C. R.
Issue Date: 19-Sep-2016
Abstract: “Automated Group Music Listening Experience” is a study for an intelligent technique to customise musical sequences for groups of listeners. It acts like a disc jockey, determining and delivering songs that satisfy its audience. Satisfying an entire audience is not an easy task, especially when members of the group have heterogeneous preferences and can join and leave the group at any time. The approach of MusicUs consists in selecting songs iteratively, in real time, favouring those members who are less satisfied by the previous songs played. “MusicUs” the reference implementation is expected to autonomously generate sequences that are varied, musically smooth and fairly adapted for a particular audience. The purpose of this thesis is to develop an intelligent technique to satisfy a group of participating listeners by delivering a sequence of songs adapted for the entire participating listener audience which are picked on the fly from network of listeners.
