PRODUCTION, SALES AND DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR DHANUSHKA ENGINEERING CO. (PVT) LTD

Abstract

With the technological advancement, automated systems are being developed in order to facilitate various business tasks in many companies over years. Production processes can be considered as a critical aspect that could be conveniently managed through such automated systems. The sales and distribution could be referred to as subsequent procedures in relation to the manufacturing process which may also be supported and enhanced by adopting efficient and effective Information Technology solutions. Dhanushka Engineering Co. (PVT) LTD, situated in Kolonnawa Industrial State is one of the leading steel fabricators in our country since 15 years. Their core business activities are preliminary focused on engineering projects of steel fabrication including sales, distribution and transportation. A range of products including fuel bowsers, water bowsers, underground and aboveground steel storage tanks for fuel and water are among their major products. The business transactions associated with monitoring inventory, handling supplier and customer interactions with respective business activities including purchasing management, sales and customer inquiry together with handling payments. The delivery procedure is expected to be supported through the proposed software solution in order to ensure proper customer service without causing any delay in the task of distributing products. A properly managed warranty claims and repair procedure will also be implemented through the system in order to provide better support for customer related services. The report generation functionality is also there to be used for keeping track of ongoing business procedure which leads to successful future predictions. The Object Oriented development techniques are used for the construction of the proposed system. A hybrid combination of waterfall and incremental development approaches are selected to be used as the software development methodology. Microsoft visual C# and MSSQL server 2014 are used as the programming language and the DBMS respectively.
