Online Price Comparison and Shopping Engine For Sinapp Solutions

Abstract

Sinapp Solutions is a Startup IT company in Katunayake which provides various technical solutions to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Sri Lanka. Their main strength is web developing and providing inventory management systems. Apart from those, they maintain a lesser-known online business directory as a paid service for various businesses. The directory helps business owners to list their businesses and services on the World Wide Web and reach their clients. Since there are many startup IT companies which are entering to the business, Sinapp Solutions is facing huge competition. The existing system does not have many features to address the online crowd. They are losing their clients and having a difficult time standing among their competitors. To avoid this competition and stand up again, Sinapp Solutions needed to come up with a new type of business solution. The strategy is to replace the above mentioned business directory with an online marketplace that enables shop owners to list their products while online shoppers can find what they need under a single web platform. This system, The Online Shopping Engine will include a helpful price comparison feature which enables shoppers to compare prices for a single item among each seller. There is another aspect of this system. Shopping online has become increasingly popular during the past few years in Sri Lanka. There are thousands of online shops available. But the main problem online shop owners face is the lack of online buyers. This is due to less bargaining power as well as a lack of trust towards ecommerce websites. However, Sinapp Solutions believes that this system will provide a solution to their problem and would convert shoppers to buyers. This solution is being developed according to Object Oriented Concepts so it can easily accept future changes. The system is modeled using Unified Modeling Language (UML) and being developed as a web application under the domain of PriceSriLanka.com.
