Title: Online Tourist Ticketing System With NFC Card

Abstract: There are more than thousand points of interest around Sri Lanka. Each and every foreign and local tourist must buy a ticket to see such points of interest. However there are no online ticketing mechanisms for buying tickets, old manual ticketing system is available still in Sri Lanka. If tourist wants to buy ticket for sightseeing in the cultural triangle or any other points of interest. The traveler has to visit relevant offices and buy their ticket. This takes a long time and the foreign traveller has to change foreign currency in to local. It‟s not possible with busy life. Because of these identified problems comes up with solution Tourist Ticketing System with NFC Near Field Communication) Card. Therefore the user meets his needs thorough the flexible system. The system has accelerated especially on Sri Lankan Tourist board or relevant official‟s. In this system tourist can buy tickets form web and he will get identification code for his profile, then he have to go to the agent , agent will issue NFC card relevant that identification code. Finally user can redeem his purchased tickets using POS(Point of Sale) in the point of interest. Summarized description of basic system component, Public Website for ticket booking and maintain travellers profile , this will enable tourist to by tickets and maintain their profile. System Administrating Website, This will enable administrator to Control and maintain the whole system. POS(Point of Sale) Application, This will enable tourist to redeem their pre-purchased tickets in the point of interest. Automated Gate Opening Module with NFC reader , this will receive signal from the POS and Open gate according to tourist card tickets availability. Transaction Gateway , this will enable Point of Sale device to communicate with the system via GPRS. In designing system, Open Source Development Technologies like Java JSP, MySQL, and Apache are used as the Programming Languages. For the POS programing Used C/C++, Hardware designing consists of hand crafted circuits and enclosure. The innovative idea behind this research is to use one of the world latest NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. Its short-range wireless connectivity technology that evolved from a combination of existing contactless identification and interconnection technologies. This work presents a solution to diminish the weaknesses of the currently available products. Most current available product use barcode or reference id for redeem tickets it‟s not a secure way to do it. People can hack the bar code duplicate the ticket‟s, But in this system I used world most secure NFC card called Mifare Desfire EV1. This has 128AES triple encryption.This system will almost stop currency handling at the counters. NO waiting queue for enter point of interest or buy tickets.
