Title: Mobile Banking App for Bank of Ceylon

Abstract: This dissertation is on a mobile banking app for Bank of Ceylon. Today in the competitive banking sector, many of the other banks went with mobile apps, but BOC still not. With this mobile app BOC will able to provide more facilities with flexibility to their customers with Balance inquires, mini statements, fund transferring, pay utility bills and many more information on interest rates, currency rates, branch/ATM locations etc. This dissertation is on the design, implementation and evaluation of a prototype of the mobile banking app (android) for BOC. This offers evidence that this system has been founded on a methodological approach by adhering to the rules of the Object-Oriented Analysis & Design and the Rapid Application Development methodologies. Titanium Studio for app implementation which makes easy to make the app for multi platforms. Building web services (SOAP) with PHP using open source libraries and consuming through http over the internet, used JSON as needed. In this project, it follows the standards of the BOC Core-banking web service. The Rapid Application Development methodology was followed to achieve the goal of fulfilling requirements within the given limited time period. The dissertation also discusses future implementations and system expansion methods.
