Title: Payroll Management System

Abstract: Currently the Sri Lanka Army has more than 200,000 soldiers including officers and other rankers within more than 550 locations Island wide. In each physical location there is a payee clerk who is responsible for sending the list of salary receivers to the army Pay and Record (P&R) section in Panagoda each and every month. The salary receivable people should request from the payee clerk to add them to salary nominal roll every month. The soldiers who are working in Army Pay and Record section should upload the data CDs which brought by the payee clerks of every location in 1st of every month and additions and deductions should be attached to the uploaded list every month Then a manual approval process happened in various authoritative levels in payment section. The proposed “Web based Payroll Management System” is aimed at providing necessary computer aided system facilities for most of the manual operation going as mentioned above in each location. The system would automate each and every step involved in normal payroll management system in order to minimize the manual processes involved and eliminate duplicative processes in salary request process of each location every month. This new system is aimed at providing a better user friendly and interactive working environment for its users. It deals with many types of transactions, which are very necessary for the smooth running of Army Pay and Records Section. In this project all aspects from the user’s point of view is considered so that every user can interact with this system very easily without distance barriers. The author is tried to originate appropriate and good environment in which a user can use the whole database very efficiently and conveniently. These fields generates large amount of information, which would be very useful for the users who interact with it. One security basis, an authorization system is included. The new system is designed in such a way that every user can adapt him/her in a very easy and effortless way.
