Abstract: The usual method of taking attendance by calling names or signing on paper is very time consuming, not transparent process and make big risk during create selecting list for the end examination and issue the admissions. Therefore, web-based student attendance monitoring system is required to assist the faculty for the time-consuming process. This project is about the design and develops a reliable web based attendance monitoring and recording system that can be used to monitor attendance of student in faculty. Although the use of web based systems in educational institutions is not new, it is developed to show how the use of it came to solve attendance monitoring problems in our faculty. This System provide a well-structured and analyzed report of the pattern of student attendance and time management, which can further help in allocating and using the human resources in the faculty to the maximum possible benefit. Thus, the project ease the workload of the administrative of faculty they can capture, monitor, update and view the attendance of the students with efficiency. The system has been built using the web-based applications such as PHP, MySQL and Apache to cater the recording and reporting of the students’ attendances. Dreamweaver is used for design the interface of overall system, MySQL as the database and PHP as the scripting programming language with support Java. Apache server used on as the web server.
