Abstract: Thamalu Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd is a newly established Vehicle Transport Company in the Southern Province in Sri Lanka. The company itself has a well reputed name in Vehicle Sales and Transportation over the Country. The idea of this project is to Automate and Manage Vehicle Transportation process carried out by them. With the growth of Internet and e-commerce applications, information management systems share resources remotely over the globe. The Vehicle Transport Management System implemented for Thamalu Enterprises, involve with the Staff, management and the Customers who processed Orders. The System handles Orders, Route Arrangements, Fuel Arrangements, Eco-Test, License Renovation, and Driver Allocations for vehicles and Payment Handling. Also Customers can track down their orders current location through the Google map service. Each Transportation vehicle connected with GPS enabled device, operating on the Android operating system. The system developed using some of the latest technologies available in the industry. PHP language which is a powerful server side scripting language, and AJAX, JQUERY, XML web technology was selected to developing process, where as MYSQL was used as the database management system. Also eclipse tool with java language used to develop android based mobile application. The system is designed to support concurrent capabilities. The system was designed and developed by using Structured Designing methodology. With the aid and guidelines from Thamalu Enterprises(Pvt) Ltd and correct supervision, the proposed system was successfully achieved and most of the functional and non-functional requirements of the system were accomplished. Performances of trial runs were proved to be successful and all the users have accepted it as a viable solution suitable for the full implementation.
