Abstract: Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) disease is one of a most common inherited neuro-muscular disorder. The number of CMT a ected people in the world is increasing rapidly. They may face di culties and injuries in day to day activities because of the de ciency of their body and disregardness. There is no particular treatment for completely heal the disease and awareness is the best way to cope with it. They highly required knowledge from experiences of who su ers from the same to make awareness. People use WWW which is the largest data collection in the world to share and acknowledge disease experiences. Searching CMT disease experiences on the web is quite complicated because the nature of human oriented and size of it. Traditional keyword based searching is not su cient to retrieve what people really want. This study proposes a mechanism for retrieving CMT disease experiences based on CMT Disease Ontology, which is created for the rst time for the purpose of retrieval. The main idea of this research is to explore the current state of the information retrieval with major focus on ontology based search. Searching mechanism is a combination of classical search technique and based on a semantic model to a CMT domain. The evaluation proves that the ontology based approach is more e cient than keyword based approach for retrieving most relevant data that search CMT disease experiences.
