Faulty Management System (FMS) For Faculty of Management University of Jaffna

Abstract

FMS is web based software designed to manage entire operations of faculty. The faculty tracks the information using Microsoft access and excel. They don t have independent faculty information system. The administration and some academic activities of faculty of management university of Jaffna are done manually. In administration side Student s records, attendance records leave records, scheduling, and stock records are being maintained manually. In academic side Grading, assignments, thesis submission and group discussion are done manually. The proposed system is intended to present student information module, attendance module, leave module, Stock management module, assignment module, forum module, course module, messaging module, chat module, group discussion module, tutorial module, and news module, scheduling module and E.thesis module. The project has been implemented using macromedia dreamweaver8 as the text editor and Apache server is used as the web server. Coding was done using the PHP, HTML and CSS. In addition, Microsoft office Visio 2003 was used to draw the UML diagrams shown in this dissertation and MySql was used as database management system. FMS is the easiest way to manage all functionalities of a faculty, which facilitates faculty to maintain the functionalities related to faculty in sense academic and administration.
