Issue Date: 16-May-2015
Abstract: Viharamahadevi girl s college is one of the leading government schools in Gampaha district. This school possesses a well-equipped swimming pool & more than two thousand memberships are registered at present. Most of the transaction process & membership details are carried out in a manual system. Pool reservation is done by telephone calls. This is viewed as a very inefficient & infeasible situation by the school authorities. So they have decided to move in to an automated system as a long term solution to handle the overwhelming transactions. The proposed system is an automated application. It is aimed to monitor by a dedicated person in the school. This can be used to manage time schedules, membership details, employment details, payments, daily transactions and management level report generating which includes notifications where school can monitor time allocation for pool and other services provided by the swimming pool. The system is designed in three tier architecture. Object oriented architecture is also employed. It is developed under windows environment. Java technology is selected as the programming language. MySQL is used as database management system and Net Beans IDE 7.3 has been selected. Enterprise architecture is used for the all requirement elicitation part and design level diagrams. The proposed system follows MVC architecture & and foundation is JAVA language with Object Oriented techniques. OOAD was used for design phase. RUP was the process model that used for the proposed system. This windows based solution is developed using technologies such as java, MYSQL, Hibernate and jasper reports mainly. This report explains how swimming pool system software solution can handle the above mentioned tasks. It also describes the adopted evaluation process & lessons learnt. Furthermore it demonstrates the ability of the software to improve effectiveness & efficiency to fulfill schools expectations to create error free software solution.
