Abstract: With fast growing information technology, use of Information system for day to day operations in all business sectors is common practice. In Sri Lanka most of the bankers use information systems for handle transactions and to provide better customer care to grow and to gain competitive advantages to survive in the field. Aragoda Sanasa Bank is a developing banking system which was started in 1998. It is one of the reputed bank in Polgahawela city that provides all type of banking facilities such as saving management, loan granting, and pawn broking to the people. Aragoda Sanasa Bank uses computerized system for main functionalities of bank. But pawn broking process is done by manual system and Human resource management also done by manual paper work involved processes. Data redundancy, inaccurate calculations, and high degree of time consumption. Lots of paper involved information storing can be identified main drawbacks of the manual system. Management and staff was facing so many difficulties when catering customers due to above mentioned drawbacks of the manual system. The Web based Pawn Broking System with HR Management (WPBS) is built to overcome the limitations and drawbacks of the manual system. The entire system is mainly divided to two part as Pawn Broking System and HR Management. Pawn broking system will help to automate all functionalities of the pawn broking process requested by the client. HR management will help to improve employee management of the bank. System is going to be developed according to spiral model and also address the object oriented techniques. Unified Modelling Language was used to analyze and design the system properly. Adobe Dream viewer used to implement the system in PHP language with JavaScript, Ajax support and MySQL is used as Database Management system. By achieving functional and Non-functional requirements of the project this system will give proper functioning scheme with user friendly environment.
