Title: Inventory and Sales Management System for Hasitha Motors (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract: Hasitha Motors is a well reputed company engaged in selling motor spare parts. They have a higher volume of clientele due to the outstanding customer services that they provide. Although they enjoy a considerable market share, still they have been relying entirely on inefficient manual systems. As such, they have been experiencing lots of difficulties in handling sales, stocks and payment related activities, in addition to unnecessary paper and labour costs incurred in existing manual system. This endeavour has been to introduce a computer based solution as a helping hand to eliminate those difficulties. The proposed system, which has been developed and installed, includes all necessary functionalities to support smooth and effective sales, purchasing and stock management processes. It also assists on-time cheque realization process and credit sales controlling process. This system is based on stand-alone architecture and developed according to object oriented principals using Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Unified Modeling Language (UML), as the principal development methodology and designing languages respectively. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 with C# and Structured Query Language (SQL) Server 2008 have been used for the implementation of the proposed system. Finally, the system which has been developed, helps to overcome problems existed earlier and provides an excellent solution for stock, purchasing and sales management activities, as management expected.
